Hello, I'm Darius. My credit journey started in 2016. I started with 1 Discover credit card. A few months later, I applied and was approved for a Capital One credit card. I used one card for food and one card for gas. After about 5 or 6 months, my score went from low 600s to low 700s.

One thing I realized on my journey of building and maintaining my credit is that it is a huge knowledge deficit. It wasn't something we were taught in school, and for most of us, it wasn't taught at the dinner table. Over time I developed a passion for bridging the gap and helping people build, repair, and maintain a good credit report. Credit is just one of those things, you would rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

The Flea in the Jar Syndrome?

A flea can jump 200x the length of its body, but if you put it in a jar and put the lid on it, after a while it will only jump high enough to not hit its head on the lid. Even when you take the lid off of the jar, the flea still wont jump out, almost as if it forgot what it was truly capable of. Metaphorically speaking, a lot of us have become that flea. We know our true potential but we let lids in our life override what we know about ourselves. We let our own insecurities, other peoples opinion, or our environment determine where we are in life.
